Thought this might be of interest to those of you in the great USA Northwest (or wherever you may be) who would be looking for a valid reason to travel to Canada this year.
British Columbia, in western Canada, has beautiful scenery, great shopping, gorgeous gardens as well as famous and fabulous “High Teas” at the stately Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria. If you’re interested in trying “afternoon tea” in one of the less extravagant environments check out this rated list of Afternoon Teas in the Victoria area. Of course there’s the world famous 55 acre Butchart Gardens that’s not to be missed, also on Vancouver Island. This Canadian National Historic site that’s still owned by descendants of the original owners is a site I’ve been to 3 times, and although it’s never an inexpensive visit I’ve never regretted this unforgettable experience.
Vancouver is on the mainland just across from Vancouver Island, so if your heart desires it’s a fun and beautiful trip across the bay. We’ve taken our own vehicle onto the ferries to Victoria because of the convenience and freedom when you arrive, but foot traffic is also an option if you’ve arranged a connection on the other end .
Well that was fun remembering past experiences, but more to the point is the Vancouver Home & Interior Design Show coming October 13th to the 16th, 2011. It’s a great time of the year to travel there, because of the lighter crowds, but take your umbrella as it can be rainy that time of year. Ty Pennington of Extreme Makeover/Home Edition fame is their spokesperson, and I think you would find it to be a wonderful business or pleasure trip while learning how to improve your home decor or office decor with the latest and greatest decorating ideas.
Take time to smell the roses friends, and don’t forget to let us know about your trip to Canada, “Aih?”
